Healthy Kids Healthy Oakland
Participation Vision: Task force members are advising on the expanded Healthy Kids, Healthy Oakland Data Framework and the three aligned tools, specifically the Opportunity Mapping Tool, the Visioning Tool, and the Balanced Scorecard. The first phase of the work from October through January is to develop a prototype of the three tools. The second phase of the work, from February through June, is to share these three tools with the broader community for further development.
Logistics: A task force of approximately 20 members including students, teachers, principals, parents, community based organizations and other public agencies such as the Alameda County Public Health and the Oakland Housing will be convened eight times between October 2010 and May 2011.
Three small working groups of OUSD staff meet weekly to develop the three tools, specifically the Opportunity Mapping Tool, the Visioning Tool, and the Balanced Scorecard.
Other Opportunities for Engagement: During the Spring, a combination of interviews, focus groups, and surveys will capture feedback from students, teachers, principals, parents, community organizations and central office departments.
